Blog On Bash In Berlin 2024 PLE WWE
Introduction to Blog
I give my thoughts on the ple, and each match. Did Kevin Owens win the title, or did Cody retain the title. Did Gunther win or did Randy Orton win the title and have number 15. I will say before I get into it, this was a good ple and I would give it a b plus. Also, watch the video, or click to watch the video on YouTube from my YouTube channel, rjmetal93. Kevin Owens Vs Cody Rhodes
I will start with saying I don't mind the afternoon PLE but I usually watch them later that night or Sunday. The show opened with this match, and I can say this match definitely one of the best of the 5 matches. This match or Drew Vs Punk were both my two favorite matches. This match had a few good moments, the crowd was really into this match and sounded like the audience were fans of both guys. I did like seeing Kevin Owens hit the splash on Cody outside the ring. At times, it looked like Kevin Owens could have won. He hit the stunner twice. Cody did show his knee was hurting, definitely when he went to the top rope. But Kevin Owens wouldn't take advantage. So, in the end after three crossroads which Cody fought his knee issues, hit them, then went for the pin. So, Cody retains. You see Kevin Owens look disappointed, but Kevin Owens shook Cody's hand and gave him a hug. Definitely a sign of respect after a really good match.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn
This match was okay for what it was. I would have rather seen Isla Dawn Alba Fyre retain. But I did see these two work well together, and at times had the upper hand of the match. Kept Biancia down to make it difficult to get a tag. Then Jade did come in and do some damage. I will say this match was a little sloppy, but I will say Jade is okay for what she offers. But in the end, after Biancia hitting a ddt into Jade hit a suplex on Dawn for the victory. So, you have new women's tag champions. I thought I could care less. I would have rather seen Fyre and Dawn retain. But I think will lead to eventually by most likely a match between Jade and Biancia by WrestleMania next year. So, that might be something to look forward to. Definitely if Biancia turns heel.
Drew Mcintyre Vs CM Punk in a Strap match
This match was one of my favorites on the show. Drew came out first, and then punk. While punk was on the apron, with his back to the ground, Drew attacked him and knocked him off which started the match. Drew had the momentum for the first few minutes. Then after hitting two of the turnbuckles. Drew went to attack punk, just for punk to counter and hit the GTS. This match was really good. It went back and forth, at times looked like Drew looked like he could win the match. But in the end, after a few GTS on Drew, Punk hit all 4 turnbuckles for the win. Also, another thing is he got the bracelet back. This match was great, and I hope this feud continues, even with Seth, until like next year WrestleMania.
Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley Vs Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan
This match felt more like a here's comes revenge match for Rhea and Damien, which dominated most of the match. Judgement day did get involved to help Liv and Dominik which gave Dominik a chance with the help of Finn, to get a pin on Damien, at a count of two. But in the end, the match ended with Damien hitting the powerbomb on Dominik, and Rhea hitting the powerbomb on Liv. Then got the pin, and the winner are Rhea and Damien. The match wasn't bad. I hate the booking for Carlito. He feels like he just doing whatever now days, when he used to feel like something special in the mid 2000s. But I feel the rivalry is far from over and I wonder what back up with Damien and Rhea get to fight their old friends of Judgement Day.
Randy Orton Vs Gunther
I will say it's great to hear how the crowd was into this match. The crowd popped for Gunther and sang Randy Orton song to the ring. Which I do like his song by rev theory. Also, great to see Randy Orton still going strong. A great to back and forth between the two. I did get to see Randy Orton hit a rko and Gunther kick out, as well as see Orton slam Gunther with the back suplex through the table. But he did pose, and it was cool. But I think that was the beginning signs of Gunther will retain. Both ended up back in the ring. Randy tried to hit the RKO but ended up on his back because Gunther countered. Gunther got the sleeper hold on Randy, Randy fought out, then Gunther tried again, and after a couple arm hits to the throat, locked in the sleeper hold, and Gunther retains the title. I will say this was good match between these two. Randy Orton definitely helped Gunther look good. Overall, a great match. Great to see the level of respect, the handshake for the class act shown by Gunther to Randy Orton, and great to see Gunther retain the world heavyweight title. Hopefully Randy will win the 15th world title one day, or even get to 17 to pass Ric records. But I don't know if that will ever happen. But Gunther is definitely something to watch, and I would love to see him wrestle someone like Sheamus again for the world heavy weight title.
Closing Thoughts
SummerSlam might have been better for a ple overall but this ple was great, and that is great to see, for a ple that isn't one of the big 4 or 5 if you include money in the bank. Great to see Randy Orton still going strong today. Also, enjoyed the match between Cody Vs Kevin Owens, and Drew Vs Punk. This PLE was good, and hopefully bad blood can live up to that, next month.
